• Here is our April News Update, which we trust you will find interesting.

*Powered Roller Conveyors:

• One of our major customers has just successfully commissioned an overseas powered roller conveyor system we designed and supplied for handling small paper bundles. The system includes two conveyor lines plus a 90° powered roller bend to combine the lines ahead of an overwrapper unit.

• The controls, which are part of our supply, were designed to ensure the bundles do not collide at the junction of the two lines. Click for more details of our powered roller conveyors.

*Stainless Steel Belt Conveyors - Variable Speed:

• We are currently designing and manufacturing a number of stainless steel powered belt conveyors to be fitted beneath our customer's drying equipment to convey waste food material away from his system.

• The conveyors are of troughed style and will each be supplied with an inverter to vary the speed to suit operational requirements.

• The conveyors are literally being 'tailored' to fit within the limited space available beneath our customer's equipment with the drum drive motors and belt tensioners located at the same end outside the main equipment for easy accessibility.

• The conveyors are 'specials', but based on our well established standard QD (Quick Delivery) style of belt conveyor.

*Overhead Cable Conveyors - Variable Speed:

• We have recently completed proving trials and commissioning of a major stainless steel overhead cable conveyor system for conveying empty cardboard and plastic trays to a line of food packing stations. The conveyor's flexibility, relatively light weight, ability to change direction, low power requirement, quiet running and low maintenance features were fully evaluated in the selection of this type of conveyor for the project. The system has variable speed control to match varying throughput requirements.

• Much of the system is at high level, suspended from the ceiling by specially designed fixings. The system is very space efficient and reduces the amount of pallet space and personal movement at floor level.

*Vehicle Loading & Unloading - Available Options:

• We continue to see an increasing activity in Vehicle Loading and Unloading Conveyor enquiries. We have a variety of belt and roller equipment available specifically designed for this application. Health and Safety audits are highlighting the need to up-grade handling methods to reduce the extent of manual handling with the associated risks.
