Our latest Press Release describing a gravity roller conveyor scheme for Northumbria University reads as follows:
Conveyor designer & manufacturer Rusmail has supplied equipment to Northumbria University Library & Learning Services to move stock to and from the Bibliographic Services section.
Rusmail developed the counter top system to reduce manual handling for library staff and prevent the need for lifting heavy boxes of books from the floor to desk height.
Building Surveyor, Cheryl Moore says:
“Over 20,000 book a year are delivered to Northumbria Library. This system was chosen to speed up the delivery and unpacking process and protect staff from bad backs caused by too much bending and lifting”.
The very simple system uses gravity rollers to move boxes of archive data around at waist height. The 11 metre circuit has ball tables at either end to facilitate easier turning of materials through 90° at these points. A manual lift-up gate at one end assists with loading onto the conveyor.
In addition to this project we have recently completed a large combined powered belt conveyor and powered roller conveyor system for a large UK supplier of electrical equipment. The system feeds goods to and from a large mezzanine floor at 3 points each requiring a reversible powered belt conveyor.
Despite the current world financial problems we are keeping busy on a variety of belt and roller conveyor projects.
We look forward to receiving your conveyor enquiries whether for belt or roller applications. Please contact us for assistance and any further details you may needs.
